Transport

Birmingham City bus services stop just outside the main gates on Bristol Road and take approximately 15 minutes to get to Birmingham City centre. Selly Oak rail station is approximately one mile from Woodbrooke and can be easily reached by bus or taxi. Reception will be happy to order taxis on behalf of guests.

Car Park and Drop Off

The car park has an accessible space marked out adjacent to the main entrance. The surface is suitable for wheelchairs and gives level access to the entrance.

Access at Entrance

Access at the main entrance is by key card for residents. Visitors should press the intercom button and wait for reception staff who will open the door remotely from the desk. The access from the car park through to the reception desk is level.

Reception

The reception lobby is directly inside the main entrance. The desk has both high and low level counters. A bell is provided to attract the attention of staff in the rear office should no one be available at reception on your arrival.

Gardens and Grounds

The ornamental and kitchen gardens are accessible with a hard surfaced pathway running along the length of the building towards the walled garden. There are excellent views across to the lake.

Access to all areas

All areas of the ground floor are fully accessible. There is a permanent ramp available in reception giving access to the library and restaurant. The first floor is reached using the lift which gives access to the computer room and some bedrooms including the ensuite bedroom with an accessible shower room. Staff and volunteers make every effort to assist guests with their needs.

Facilities

The Cadbury room is the largest meeting room and is on the ground floor. There is level access from reception to this room. An induction loop is available for hearing impaired guests. Seating is provided in a range of heights and styles to suit all needs.

There are three further smaller meeting rooms all with induction loops fitted available on the first floor, however there is no wheelchair access to these rooms.
