Access in Summary

Car Park

There are 2 accessible parking bays available within the Car Park. If an accessible bay is required staff will reserve one by prior arrangement. Car Parking is free of charge at the National Motorcycle Museum.

Access at Entrance

The main entrance offers level access to the Main Reception lobby via double automatic opening sliding doors. The doors are of sufficient width to accommodate all users.

Main Reception

The Main Reception is located within the Reception Lobby, staff will direct visitors to the restaurant on the 1st floor or to the Admissions Desk on the ground floor for those who wish to visit the Main Exhibition. There is an induction loop available at the Main Reception for customers who have a hearing impairment.

Main Exhibition

There are 5 different Exhibition Halls displaying over 800 motorcycles at the National Motorcycle Museum. There is a massive collection of vintage, commercial and more recent machines. You are free to browse at your leisure and take in the extensive displays and intricate details of how these motorcycles have shaped our current society. Entry to the Main Exhibition is £6.95 for adults and £4.95 for concessions.


The baby change facility is located within a separate room leading to the female toilets. The baby change facility is identified with the correct signage.

The accessible toilet facility is located off the reception lobby and is available for use by all customers and conference delegates. The toilet is suitable for both left and right handed transfer.

There is a Free Exhibition Room which all visitors can browse at their leisure along with a Gift/Book Shop. The gift shop stocks a variety of clothing and motorcycle memorabilia and the book shop stocks a wide range of books including autobiographies and maintenance manuals.

The restaurant is located on the 1st floor and can be accessed via stairs or the platform stair lift. There is a selection of hot and cold food and drinks available during the museum’s opening hours. Although this is a counter service restaurant, staff are happy to assist customers in taking their food and drink to their tables.

Access to All Areas

There is a platform stair lift which offers access to all upper floors including the conference facilities and to the restaurant. All staff are trained on how to use the platform stair lift, please ask at the Main Reception for assistance.
