The Italian Wing is an accommodation block on floors three, four and five for parents of children receiving treatment within the hospital. The Italian Wing is situated close to the Main Entrance on Queens Square. Entry to the Italian Wing is through a large double door over a level threshold. There is an intercom to the right of the entrance to alert staff of your presence. Once inside the building, the dual height reception desk is immediately in front of you. Staff here can book you into your accommodation and direct you to your room. There is both lift and stair access to all floors.

Weston House

Weston House is directly opposite the Main Hospital on Great Ormond Street. The building can be accessed via the steps immediately in front of the door or the large ramp to the right of the entrance which allows for step free access into the building.

The Reception Desk is located immediately inside the entrance to the left. Weston House offers conference facilities on the ground and lower ground floor, there are also accessible toilet facilities available on the ground floor. The upper floors house the main parent and relative accommodation block for families with children receiving treatment within the hospital. There are a number of fully accessible rooms available. All floors are accessible via lifts or stairs.

York House

There is a separate door to the side of the building which allows step free access into the lift and stair lobby area.

Just inside the entry doors is a small reception area with a security desk to the left which is permanently manned. Visitors need to report to this desk and sign in. Staff members have their security swipe cards to access all floors via the lifts or stairs.

Department Access

Most departments within the hospital have locked doors preventing access onto the Department. This is a security measure to ensure the children do not leave the wards unaccompanied. Each department or ward has an intercom button outside. Press these buttons to alert staff who will remotely unlock the door to allow you to enter. After entering you should report to the nurses’ station or reception desk to inform staff of your presence. To exit the wards or departments, there are buttons to the side of the door which will unlock the doors. Care should be taken to ensure that when you unlock the door nobody else leaves the department with you.
